Additional Information

Coach Hood came to Grayson in the spring of 2019 from Texas where he was born and raised in Marshall, Texas.  Coach Hood grew up playing baseball and football for his high school and after graduating in 2008, he went to play baseball at Hill Junior College.  After making the conference all-star team, he earned a walk-on opportunity at Stephen F. Austin University.  Coach Hood finished his baseball career in the spring of 2013 and graduated from SFA's education program that fall.  After graduating, Coach Hood followed his love for baseball and became the Varsity Assistant at White Oak High School.  The following year he accepted a position in Huntsville, TX, he spent his first two years as the Freshman/JV Head Baseball Coach.  For the next three years, he was the Head Baseball and Head Freshman Football Coach and that January of 2017 he married his wife Ashley the day before his official first season as the Head Baseball Coach for the Huntsville Hornets.  In April 2019 they welcomed their daughter Amelia and Coach Hood took a year off from coaching to move to Georgia and spend time with family.  They welcomed their second child, Banks this year.  Coach Hood teaches math at Grayson.
